  • Search and Rescue Operations: Specialize in locating and saving victims from difficult and dangerous situations.

Supportive Roles

Your skills can also make a massive impact away from the emergency scenes:

  • Administrative Support: Help with day-to-day operations and ensure that our firefighters have what they need to succeed.
  • Fundraising and Community Outreach: Organize events and initiatives to fund equipment purchases and community safety programs.
  • Technical Support: Use your IT and technical skills to maintain communications equipment and data management systems.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Keep firefighting apparatus and tools in top condition; essential for effective emergency response.

Why Your Help Matters

In the 1970’s, there were more than 300,000 volunteers. Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner Thomas Cook said that number is now down to an estimated 30,000. That’s a 90% drop over the last generation according to WTAJ.

Your involvement allows us to operate more efficiently and effectively, reaching more people and saving more lives. It also strengthens the bond within the community, as every role filled by a volunteer is a direct action toward a safer environment.
